A military vehicle traveling on the road to El Singo, in a rural area of the department of Antioquia (northwestern Colombia), was attacked by IEDs. This action was carried out by members of Front 18 of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia – Ejército del Pueblo (FARC-EP) who refused the peace agreements signed with Bogotá, in which they see a capitulation.
Three soldiers were killed in this guerrilla action, and ten others wounded. Almost simultaneously, another Colombian soldier was killed in the northeast of the country, while taking part in an anti-guerrilla operation against the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) in a rural area of El Tarra (Norte de Santander). For the record, on March 29, the ELN released five prisoners on humanitarian grounds, including a soldier captured in the department of Norte de Santander.
In addition, the ELN announced the forthcoming release of Dariana del Carmen Mora Beleño. This female non-commissioned officer in the Colombian army had been sent on an intelligence operation while she was pregnant. Captured by a unit of the Darío Ramírez Castro War Front, she gave birth in captivity.
