A non-commissioned officer of a CoBRA unit (Commando Battalions for Resolute Action) was injured during a clash with Maoist rebels in the district of Bijapur (state of Chhattisgarh, central India).

The skirmish took place more precisely in the forest, between the villages of Kottaguda and Pegdapalli, while a joint detachment of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), the Special Task Force (STF) and the 210th CoBRA battalion carried out anti-guerrilla operations. Local sources report several other injuries.

In addition, three paramilitaries from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured during an attack by the Maoist rebellion on the Elmagunda camp in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh state, which had been set up quite recently, last February.
